LOCAL NON-PROFIT TO HOST 5TH ANNUAL DIAMONDS & DENIM LEADERSHIP AWARDS BRUNCH

Foundation for Second Chances (FFSC) has announced it will host its 5 th Annual Diamonds & Denim Leadership Awards Brunch at the Los Angeles River Center & Gardens. This event will honor six (6) extraordinary  community leaders whose contributions are vital to the Los Angeles community and to the continued success of FFSC while also serving as a fundraiser to help fund programs through major sponsorships and an exclusive silent auction.

The Leadership Awards Brunch will gather over 250 professionals taste-makers for a relaxed afternoon of cocktails, brunch, entertainment,  including a silent auction, and education about FFSC and its mission.

Second Chances logoFFSC is celebrating its 10th year as a Los Angeles-based non-profit that utilizes hands-on education, mentoring, health awareness, and community service to maximize the potential of youth in the local area. The organization’s programs have been proven to increase academic achievement and leadership skills, decrease delinquent behavior, and improve overall well-being. In 2013, FFSC partnered with Grammy-winning artist, Estelle, to provide an international leadership challenge to fifteen (15) youth leaders that included a trip abroad to Senegal, Africa, where attendees helped construct a library and became immersed in the cultural and leadership practices of the Senegalese.

The honorees for the 5th Annual Diamonds & Denim Leadership Awards Brunch are as follows:

Entertainment Leader Award: Julian Petty – Partner at Nixon Peabody

Educational Leader Award: Alex Johnson – Executive Director at Children Defense Fund

Business Leader Award: Karim Webb and Ed Barnett – Partners of PCF Management Group (Buffalo Wild Wings)

FFSC Volunteer of the Year Award: Renee Radia – Campaign Success Manager at GoodThreads

Community Leader Award: Nicole D. Vick – MPH CHES Program and Policy Development Coordinator at Los Angeles Department of Public Health

Individual tickets cost $100. Various sponsorships and ad space are also available. All proceeds will benefit FFSC. Tickets, sponsorships, and ad space can be purchased at ffscleadershipbrunch.eventbrite.com.
