Beverly Hills, CA –
Safe Passage held its Gala Pre Oscar Charity Luncheon Party on February 27th at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills to honor several outstanding humanitarians; included were Dr. Evelyn Badghdrasraian, Composer David Longoria, Catherine Sanson, Dr. Gabe Adorijan, Christina Aguilera, NFL Players, and, most notably, Safe Passages founder Trish Steele.
Jim Hill, sportscaster for LA’s Channel 2 and KCAL 9 news, was the opening speaker. Jim pointed out the important services that Safe Passage provides for abused and battered women and their children. Safe Passages is compassionately transforming the lives of abused women and their children.
Composer and honoree David Longoria entertained at the luncheon with one of his songs from his new album while attendees enjoyed a delightful 3 course roasted filet of salmon lunch.
At Safe Passage, women and children receive counseling sessions that are safe and confidential to express and control their feelings, thoughts and fears. Trauma specialists help survivors move on with their lives while Safe Passage provides safe shelter, health assessments, workshops to build self-esteem, resources for employment, mentorship, clothing and transportation while Dr. Gold, a dentist, provides free dental services for those in need.
Safe Passage’s vision is to break the cycle of domestic violence by duplicating the Safe Passage program throughout the country. This will be accomplished by introducing the program into different cities and educating them on how they can utilize the community’s resources to help transform the lives of their women and children. Plans to open a wellness center in the near future are in the works.
